Team Marine USA is proud to announce that the much heralded Pre-Vent - Pro Series PV-1, the Pre-Vent - Angler Series PV-2 and the brand new Pre-Vent - Pro Mini PV-3 are all in full scale production.

These much needed, angler safe and durable venting tools were invented, designed and developed over a 5 year period by Team Marine to humanely, quickly and safely deflate the abdominal cavities of all benthic species of deep water reef fish.

Most bottom fish have an abdominal cavity containing a swim bladder which functions to adjust its gases to match the atmospheric pressure of a particular depth. Due to the rapid ascent when caught, typically the swim bladder ruptures and these gases greatly expand the abdominal cavity, somewhat like a diver getting the bends.

This can place enormous pressure on its internal organs. Unless properly vented, these fish face imminent death and use of a knife usually results in doing more harm than good. DO NOT CUT OR PUNCTURE WHAT IS PROTRUDING OUT OF ITS MOUTH. This is not the swim bladder, it’s the stomach.

Also, the quicker a reef fish can return to home depth, the better its chances to not fall prey to predators. Mote Marine Laboratory, CCA, NOAA, Florida Seagrant and NMFS to name a few, have done extensive research on barotraumas, fish conservation, proper venting techniques, fish mortality, fish decompression and fish population.
